Spot welding insulate

At VDL Belgium it is possible to have products insulated so that they can withstand high temperatures. Think of exhausts that become hot due to the exhaust gases that pass through these pipes. These pieces can be insulated to ensure that surrounding parts are not affected by the heat.

When insulating, the product is coated on both sides with thermal insulation, which is then spot welded. As with ordinary spot welding, a high temperature is locally generated by means of an electrode, which ensures that the metals are connected to each other.
